Can You See Me?

So...yeah.
This is a rough-draft sketch. I was really angry with how the window pains turned out. Even if I use a ruler I just can't make straight lines! ;_; I need to work on that!

This is a fanart of Oscar Francios de Jarjayes and Andre Grandier from Ryoko Ikeda's Rose of Versailles, or Bersaillu no Bara, or La Rosa de Versailles, or Lady Oscar. So many titles for such a great story! It is possibly the best manga ever written, in m humble opinion.

I drew this to focus not only on Andre's loss of sight, but on their strained and delayed relationship. I purposely put them in their French Guards uniforms to display the amount of time they had left with each other. I just suddenly had this idea when I got home from school and decided to draw it.

Oscar is supposed to be standing in front of a window, and Andre is supposed to be watching from behind. I'm working on getting the image right still. :/

I'm thinking about coloring it for the first time in my life as well. I've never done that before, but I think this wouldn't be too difficult to color.

I didn't use any references this time either. I did their uniforms from memory. I think Oscar's is accurate but Andre's has some issues (as you can see, he has no pants xD). I'll correct any errors and fix it up later as well.

So...yeah. Tell me what you think so far. This is my first time doing fanart really, as well as my first time drawing Oscar and Andre. I hope I didn't do too terrible.
